1. Introduction
Brite Star Christian Virtual Education and Microschools, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") publishes Guidingstar Christian AI (the "App"), a mobile application that lets users chat with an AI agent. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to Version 1 of the App and will be updated as the App evolves.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
The App collects only two categories of information:
Device Identifier
The App generates or reads a device-level identifier (such as identifierForVendor on
iOS, an Android device ID, or a locally generated fallback identifier) and sends it to our backend
as a user_id value. This identifier is not tied to a name, email address, or any
account — there are no user accounts or logins in the App. It exists solely to maintain and
continue your chat session across requests.
User Content (Chat Messages)
The text you type into the chat is sent to our backend and processed by our AI agent to generate a response. This content is retained server-side as part of your ongoing conversation history so that the AI agent can maintain context across a session.

Neither data type is used for analytics, advertising, product personalization, or any purpose other than operating the core chat feature of the App.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect, access, or request:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Health, fitness, or biometric data
- Payment, credit, or other financial information
- Precise or coarse location
- Contacts / address book data
- Photos, videos, or audio/voice recordings
- Browsing history outside the App
- Purchases or in-app purchase history
- Usage/analytics data, advertising data, or crash/performance diagnostics (the App does not include any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs)
The in-app search bar, which filters your previously saved conversations, runs entirely on your device and does not transmit search terms anywhere.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above solely to:
- Operate the core chat functionality of the App
- Maintain continuity of your conversation with the AI agent across messages and sessions
- Provide, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of that core functionality
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing, third-party data broker sales, or to build a profile of you for any purpose unrelated to operating the chat feature.
6. Tracking & Advertising
The App does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission. Your information is not combined with data from other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes, and it is not shared with data brokers. As a result, no cross-app or cross-site tracking occurs.
7. Data Retention
Your device identifier and chat history are retained server-side for as long as needed to provide continuity of your conversation with the AI agent. If you reset your device identifier (see Section 8), your prior conversation history is no longer associated with any identifier you continue to use, and your local on-device history is cleared.
8. Your Choices & Data Deletion
From the App's Profile screen, you can reset your device identifier and clear your local conversation history at any time. Resetting your identifier disconnects your device from its prior conversation history held in our backend and starts a new session.
If you would like to request deletion of data associated with a specific device identifier, or have any other privacy question, please contact us using the information in Section 13.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not include account creation, and the only information transmitted (a device identifier and chat text) is not knowingly solicited from children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App in a manner inconsistent with this policy, please contact us at the email address in Section 13 and we will take appropriate steps to address the request, including deletion of associated data where applicable.
10. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information transmitted by the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Data
Our backend infrastructure, including Google Cloud's Vertex AI Agent Engine, may process and store data in data centers located in the United States or other countries. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in a country other than your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App's features change — for example, if we add user accounts, analytics, push notifications, or new data types in a future version. We will revise the "Effective Date" above when changes are made, and material changes will be reflected in an updated version of the App or an in-app notice. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
